Metals Testing Series Part 2: Why Challenge Testing is Unnecessary & Live Q&A with Dr. Shade
For over two decades, many clinical metals toxicologists have been relying on “challenge” or provocation testing, to diagnose mercury and other metal toxicities. The theory and diagnostic premise behind provocation is to show the “body burden” of the individual – that pool of deeply held metals that represents a lifetime of accumulation. Research is showing that although challenge testing was clinically relevant for the time, advances in technology and clinical study have proven it to be unreliable and even potentially damaging to patients.
In this webinar, Dr. Shade explains the dynamic nature of metals in the body, why challenge testing can be dangerous, and how to holistically assess and treat metals toxicity in patients. Bring your questions and stay tuned for a live Q&A after the lecture with Dr. Shade.
